The Society of John XXIII is a group of dedicated Christians who are committed to living the message of Jesus in the ecumenical and engaging spirit of our namesake, John XXIII who decided to open the doors of the Church to dialogue with our world and to address the issues facing the Church in Modern times. We are called to live an authentic and holy life, as he wrote:
From the saints I must take the substance, not the accidents of their virtues. I am not St. Aloysius, nor must I seek holiness in his particular way, but according to the requirements of my own nature, my own character and the different conditions of my life. I must not be the dry, bloodless reproduction of a model, however perfect. God desires us to follow the examples of the saints by absorbing the vital sap of their virtues and turning it into our own life-blood, adapting it to our own individual capacities and particular circumstances. If St. Aloysius had been as I am, he would have become holy in a different way
We welcome everyone, as Christ does and as John XXIII reminds us when he said: The secret of my ministry is in the crucifix...Those open arms have been the program of my pontificate: they mean that Christ died for all, for all. No one is excluded from his love, his forgiveness.
“The council now beginning rises in the Church like the daybreak, a forerunner of most splendid light.”
